Radio News November 2014

As this is the last newsletter this year I wish you and your families a very Happy Festive Season.

As expected with the approaching summer the team have been somewhat busier with more radio activity, this of course will continue for the next few months. We logged 288 calls during November and 157 volunteer hours. Events on the lake are starting to HEAT up again with 3 Navigational Warnings issued during November.

To the RO’s thank you sincerely for your efforts and selfless hours you have volunteered to C.G. Radio and in turn the Lake users.

To Barry and his team, Phillip and his team and both Coastguard units on the Lake thank you for your support and assistance we look forward to working along side you again in 2015.

Upcoming Events

Coastguard Annual Fundraising Raffle is underway, anyone with a spare hour to assist in selling tickets please contact John Godfrey.

In closing I can now report that Lake Taupo Mariners Radio has now been handed to Coastguard Taupo with the handing over of assets to take place after the final L.T.M.R. board meeting which is set to take place on December 11.
